What are assistive technology devices?
An assistive or adaptive technology is any device that allows someone with a disability to perform daily tasks. Assistive technology devices allow individuals with disabilities to access and use web sites. Some of these devices include:
- Screen Reader. Visually impaired users may require speech or Braille output to access the information on your web site.
- Screen Magnification Software. Users with low vision may need to make the text larger in order to read it.
- Alternative Mouse or Keyboard. Users with limited mobility may use a special kind of mouse or keyboard to use your web site.
